The production of Achille Castiglioni, architect and designer who graduated in 1944 from the Milan Polytechnic, originates from an approach to industrial product design that is original and free from prejudice. In regard to this Achille Castiglioni said that many professionals of the design field would tend to take things too seriously, and that on the contrary one of the secrets of his success was joking continuously.
His creations are inspired by the simplest objects and often result in the development of different functions. From the idea of a bicycle saddle for example comes the original Sella stool. From the image of a streetlight comes the famous floor lamp Arco, and so on.
Achille Castiglioni's production avail itself of more than one-hundred-and-fifty creations in the field of lighting, furniture, and object design for the kitchen.
