Artist
a person who practises one or more liberal arts
The word artist refers to those people who exert one or more liberal
arts as their profession or at a professional level.
In their creations the artist communicates and expresses themselves
through the use of techniques devised by other experts who excel in
the artistic fields, or techniques that they have invented by themselves.
The experience of the artists, who traditionally are those who performs
their work essentially in painting and sculpture, can however expand
and find applications or interactions in many other fields among which
is music, performing, architecture, and design. Consequently the artist's
choices in delineating and describing objects have always influenced
the design productions of the manufacturing industry.
An artist can perform in two different classification fields: the
contemporary and modern one, which is bound to the applicative policies
that were generated for the art field towards the end of 1800, and the
classic one that conforms with one or more branches of classic art.
