Industrial design organisation Adi

Adi

(1956)
industrial design organisation

Founded by important design figures like the world famous designer and architect Vico Magistretti, Adi is an association that deals with design related issues in the fields of industrial production, of visual communication, of environmental planning, and of interior architecture.

Aware of the sociological and cultural value of the design theme, it is strongly committed to trying to provide work situations that facilitate creative designing. Accordingly in 1995 it organised the Giurì, a service designed for protecting the rights that are related to intellectual property. Giurì's objective is creating the basis for an harmonious relation between the consumer audience, the designers, and the manufacturing companies by trying to safeguard the right of each group.

At the base of the philosophy that Adi states through the implementation of Giurì's services is the belief in the necessity of avoiding the industrial production of objects that imitate others and violates the intellectual property of their author personalities Making a creation that reminds of the style of one designed by another author without adding a considerable amount of innovative elements to it, based on Adi's philosophy is to be considered disloyal.
